Most common questions asked
What kind of services do you offer?
Who are your clients? That’s a hard one! Typically women 35-80 years of age, but I have a few male clients who value exercising with awareness. My specialty is addressing muscle imbalances and rehabilitation, but I apply that to all my classes and sessions so basically anyone would benefit from some time in our studio. How much does it cost? Personal training ranges from $35 to $85 depending on whether it’s a one-off session or ongoing, frequency per week, and whether you choose 30, 45 or 60 min. Where are you based? I operate in a beautiful light and airy private studio upstairs at Proactive Physio, 12 Lee Rd, Taradale, Napier. How many sessions will I need?
If you are already training at another gym or very active you may simply require one or two sessions to fine-tune your movement or address your issues. Or you may benefit from a short or ongoing period of 2-3 sessions a week depending on your need, desire, time and budget. We'll assess as you go and can change to suit your needs. |
If I’m not sure what I need or would enjoy, what should I do?
I offer a free 30 minute consultation where we take you through our Health & Fitness questionnaire and a few movement screens. We'll discuss your personal concerns or challenges, likes and dislikes, and I'll explain the various services on offer and what I would recommend for you and why. There’s no obligation - it’s important that you’re happy with us and what I offer. Are you qualified to help me? My studio and I are registered with the Registered Exercise Professionals. www.reps.co.nz. I am a Rehab Trainer and NZQA Level 4 Fitness Professional. I did my training via Cityfitness using the principles of the National Academy of Sports Medicine (USA) where I also completed certificates in Corrective Exercise, Neuromuscular Stretching, and Special Populations. I am a qualified Nordic Walking Instructor and have also been a Les Mills Body Balance Instructor for a number of years. But qualifications are nothing without experience. For the past 7 years I have focused on working with all types of people but particularly those with challenges – reconstructed shoulders and knees, hip replacements, broken necks, strokes, MS, Parkinsons and plain old muscle imbalances. I’m learning more every day! What do your clients say about you? Check out some of my testimonials here. What sets Optimal Me apart from others?
